As she neared Tao Ranch and the pile of lumber and dirt where she knew her friends were, a large, blue, buggy shape began to move toward her.

“Katie!” Brian the Heracross called to her, hurrying over to her on his stubby legs. “Katie, Katie Katie!! Look!” He exclaimed, pointing to the choker around his neck.

“Yeah, that’s great Brian but listen, Missy...” Katie began.

“IT’S SO SHINY!” said Brian, cutting her off.

“Yes, very shiny, great, but seriously, listen.” Katie said, a bit exasperated.

“Yeah, I went over to that green bug-looking shop,” Brian continued, oblivious to Katie’s exasperation. “The had so many things!! But this one was the shiniest. Oh yeah, I used one of your guy’s leaf thingies to buy it, hope you don’t mind. It’s so shiny!! Look at it in the sun! And over here too! Oh, thats right! Ray and Isaiah went off somewhere” He said, still looking at his bell.

“What?!” Katie shouted.

“I bought a bell, I said.” He said.

“No, no, no, about Ray and Isaiah” Katie said, trying to calm herself down.

“Oh yeah, they just kinda, disappeared. We were workin’ on the cafe, and they were arguin’, and then they just stopped and I didn’t see ‘em around anymore. Weird,” Brian answered. “Oh hey, where’s Missy? I want to show her my bell, it was her leaf-thingy I used to pay for it, so I know she’ll like it.”

“Missy and me went together into the woods with some friends, and it got all bright and flashy, and then I dunno...” Katie muttered, staring at the ground. “I hoped I would find her here.”

“Hmmm. That’s very weird,” Brian said, with his oh so valuable ability for stating the obvious.

“Well, come on,” Katie said, pulling Brian’s hand. “Maybe that bossy purple lizard lady know’s what’s goin’ on, or the bossy orange lizard guy, or the bossy pirate...”
